Cynthia Robinson is an African-American musician, best known for being the trumpeter in the popular and influential psychedelic soul/funk band Sly & the Family Stone. Prior to the formation (1966) of Sly & the Family Stone, Cynthia, along with Sly, was part of "Sly and The Stoners."
Some of her vocals ("Get up, and dance to the music." & "All you squares go home.") are some of the most distinctive and memorable lyrics in all of rock'n' roll.

She is notable for being an early black trumpet player in a major American band, and also for being the only member of the original Family Stone to continue working with Sly Stone after the band disbanded in 1975.
Cynthia has performed with Parliament-Funkadelic leader George Clinton, Larry Graham, Prince, at Sinbad's Aruba Summer Soul Festival with fellow Sly members, Rose Stone, Jerry Martini, Larry Graham & Graham Central Station.
